Hizbullah Launches "Pre-emptive War" on STL Hizbullah, Lebanon's only group with a self-declared arsenal of weapons is launching a "pre-emptive war" against an international tribunal that is looking into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri and the series of assassinations that came in the following years, the Beirut-based influential daily AN NAHAR reported on July 24. "Those close to the group who are familiar with the mentality of its leadership believe that the group is launching the second stage of its open-ended and ferocious pre-emptive war against the tribunal and its local, regional and international backers," the newspaper said.
